Our Welcome Letter

It is our pleasure to welcome your family to Lilly Pilly South Early Learning Centre. Lilly Pilly South Early Learning Centre took over an existing centre in 2004, our vision and motivation is to provide families in the Toormina/Boambee/Sawtell areas with high quality care and education within a supportive, inclusive, nurturing, stimulating and engaging environment.

Located at 42 Amaroo Crescent, Toormina, just metres from surrounding schools and the local shopping centre, Lilly Pilly South Early Learning Centre strives to deliver excellence in early learning to all our families. Lilly Pilly South Early Learning Centre provides an environment where parents and teachers work together, assisting each child’s development to enable them to reach their full potential. We have a beautiful natural enhanced outdoor environment that the children engage in each day and allows them to develop their sensory, visual, physical, social, and emotional needs.

Our centre has a team of 11 qualified staff, and we are open Monday to Friday (7.30am-6.00pm) 51 weeks of the year. Lilly Pilly South Early Learning Centre caters for children aged from 15 months. We have a comprehensive school readiness program and participate many other celebrations throughout the year. We are also engaged in many community activities such as MHOC Song and Story Time, Woolworths Discover Program, visits from our local Emergency Services, NAIDOC Week and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day. Lilly Pilly South Early Learning Centre is active in facilitating the Munch n Move Fundamental Movement Skills program, providing a variety of modified sports e.g., soccer, basketball, a comprehensive ELLA Language Program for Preschoolers where they learn Indonesian and embedding our local Gumbaynggirr culture.

Our dedicated staff look forward to sharing this special time with you.

Our Learning Centre Philosophy

Our Vision

To ignite a passion for life-long learning by providing opportunities for children to play, explore and discover within an inclusive, safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children’s voices are valued and heard.

Our Mission Statement

Our mission is to support and develop all children’s strengths and potential via collaborative teaching by passionate educators and holistic learning environments that allow children’s voices to be acknowledged and supported through the first most important five years of their life and prepare them with skills for life.

Our Service Philosophy

At Lilly Pilly South Early Learning Centre, we provide a safe and stimulating environment for children to learn and develop.

Our priority is creating positive and respectful relationships with children and their families, which is crucial to the inclusive implementation of our quality educational program at Lilly Pilly South Early Learning Centre. Educators acknowledge that every family and child is unique and that it is through a positive partnership with parents/carers that their child’s needs are met in our Early Childhood setting. We create a supportive, warm, home-like environment that makes families feel we are part of the children’s extended family.

We value and acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, the traditional owners of the land from where our centre operates, and the people from the Gumbaynggirr language group.

Our educational program reflects the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia Belonging, Being and Becoming and a play-based approach to learning. It is based on the view that children are capable beings who learn best when their interests and voices form the basis of the educational program.

Educators actively strive for our core values and goals to embed healthy lifestyles, inclusive practices, sustainable practices and cultural awareness at Lilly Pilly South Early Learning Centre through respectful communication, intentional teaching and role modelling.

Lilly Pilly South Early Learning Centre Educators are committed to ensuring that policies and educational practices reflect current research and best practices. This is maintained through regular engagement with professional development opportunities, ongoing visits and support with community outer agencies (OT, Speech, Physio, DCJ, Uniting and Wesley), regular staff meetings and reflective practices.
