Fees Simplified Payment Guidelines

Upon confirming your child's enrolment, a $50 fee is due, which includes a Lilly Pilly South Early Learning Centre T-shirt, bag, and hat. Weekly fees, paid in advance, can be estimated for your convenience (excluding the Childcare Benefit). Utilise the Debit Success Direct Debit system for seamless weekly payments.

Ensure your funds cover the weekly direct debit for those paid on a different schedule. Families with two consecutive fortnightly payment declines risk losing their spot to a child on the waiting list. Opt for direct debit from your bank account or credit card for a hassle-free experience.

If you have any questions about our fee setup, don't hesitate to contact Lilly Pilly South Early Learning Centre in Toormina today on (02) 6653 1038. You can find out more about our enrolment process here.

Embracing the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)

Our commitment to providing a dynamic curriculum at our centre is firmly grounded in the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). This framework shapes our approach, ensuring a responsive and tailored strategy for early childhood development.

Observation & Portfolio Integration

Thorough observations of each child enrolled guide our methodology, meticulously documented in electronic portfolios for continuous reflection. These portfolios, accessible to families, serve as a living record enriched regularly by contributions from educators, families, and the children themselves. While available for family viewing, it's important to note that these portfolios remain the property of the centre. This ongoing documentation ensures that our programming stays aligned with each child's evolving interests and developmental stage.

Guiding Principles of the Early Years Learning Framework

At the heart of our philosophy is the recognition of each child's unique journey. Our educators collaborate closely with families to create learning experiences based on individual interests and family backgrounds. The celebration of each child's achievements is integral, with educators actively observing and recording strengths. This collaborative effort with children and families results in a curriculum that remains responsive and dynamic.

Flexibility is a key principle, with the curriculum avoiding preprogramming for specific outcomes. Instead, it is shaped by a combination of children's interests, educators extending these interests, spontaneous experiences, and valuable family input. In instances where additional support is needed, our centre engages with external agencies to cater to diverse needs. Regular weekly evaluations and reflections ensure our curriculum remains vibrant and responsive to evolving interests and needs.

Learning & Play Experiences

Our indoor and outdoor activities encourage creative expression, covering a diverse range, including manipulative play, block play, sensory play, dramatic play, drawing, and physical activities like running and skipping. Exploring mathematical and scientific concepts is seamlessly integrated into activities, such as block play, building, cooking, water play, and engagement with the natural environment.

Language development is nurtured through a variety of means, including educators modelling language, show and tell, story time, games, poems, and dramatic play experiences. Social and emotional skills, as well as independence, are honed through role play, dramatic play, group games, and self-help tasks. Music and movement activities enrich the physical, social, and creative dimensions of a child's development.

Our comprehensive weekly program also integrates essential life skills, including road safety, hygiene, dental care, and nutrition.

Extra Curricular Activities

1. Fundamental Movement Skills Session:

Early childhood is the optimal period for instilling healthy eating and physical activity habits in children. This involves imparting fundamental movement skills crucial for their ongoing participation and enjoyment of physical activities throughout life. Recognising the significant time children spend in early childhood settings like preschools and daycare services, these environments become key in promoting awareness of proper physical activity and healthy eating habits.

Establishing robust habits early on provides children with the best foundation for leading a healthy life and maintaining a proper weight. Our Munch & Move initiative aligns with the NSW Government's priority to prevent childhood overweight and obesity.

2. ELLA Program:

Immersive language learning comes to life with the ELLA program—a digital, play-based initiative designed to captivate preschoolers. As part of the Australian Government's commitment to supporting language studies, Lilly Pilly South Early Learning Centre engages in this program, focusing on the vibrant language of Indonesian.

3. Henny Penny Chickens:

Every year at Lilly Pilly South Early Learning Centre, children have the unique opportunity to care for baby chickens through the Henny Penny Chickens project. Witnessing the entire lifecycle, from incubation to hatching, drying, and eventual growth in a designated pen, children are enthralled. Once the chickens reach a suitable size, families have the option to adopt them, making these feathered friends a delightful daily conversation topic among the children.
